Ramalinga Reddy Leads Compensation Distribution Program Ensuring Financial Security for Families

Bengaluru: Ramalinga Reddy, Minister of Transport of Karnataka, took the lead in organizing a compensation distribution program at the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) Head Office in Bengaluru on Wednesday, prioritizing the welfare of its employees and passengers alike.

Under the Transport Insurance Rs. 1 Crore Accident Compensation Insurance Scheme, KSRTC led  the initiative to provide substantial financial security to the families of its employees. Seventeen families were granted Rs. 1 crore each in accident compensation, with a total of Rs. 1 crore already disbursed to 13 families and an additional four families receiving the compensation today.

To alleviate the hardships faced by the families of deceased employees, KSRTC enhanced its compensation scheme under the Employees' Family Welfare Compensation Scheme. Increasing the compensation amount from Rs. 3 lakhs to Rs. 10 lakhs, KSRTC demonstrated its commitment to supporting the families of its workforce. A total of 39 families have benefitted from this scheme, with 23 families receiving Rs. 10 lakhs each in recent months.

Furthermore, in alignment with its dedication to passenger safety, KSRTC amplified the compensation amount for passengers unfortunate enough to lose their lives in accidents while traveling in KSRTC vehicles. Under the revised scheme, each of the four deceased passengers received Rs. 10 lakhs in compensation.

Reddy highlighted the importance of judiciously utilizing the compensation amount for the betterment of the families, particularly for children's education and housing.

Praising the efforts of KSRTC's employees and officials, Chairman of K.R.R.S.A Corporation, Srinivas Gubbi, reiterated the significance of providing adequate facilities to the hardworking staff.
