Youth-led discussions promote Indo-German partnership on education, technology, and security issues

Bengaluru: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Germany’s Junge Union (JU), youth wing of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), conducted an India-Germany Youth Dialogue in Bengaluru, facilitated by Dr. Adrian Haack, India Director of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS). This event served as a platform for Indian and German youth leaders to explore shared interests in policy, education, and technology, aiming to strengthen Indo-German cooperation on issues relevant to both societies.

The dialogue featured a closed session between ABVP and JU leaders, followed by a public panel discussion that engaged Bengaluru’s young audience. During these discussions, participants addressed critical global issues and explored opportunities for future collaboration. The Indian delegation was led by Shri Ashish Chauhan, National Organising Secretary, ABVP, alongside Dr. Yagyawalkya Shukla, National General Secretary, and other national and state-level ABVP office bearers. The German delegation was led by Ms. Karoline Sophie Czychon, State Chairwoman of Junge Union Niedersachsen, and included JU representatives Ms. Anna Catherina Frohn, Ms. Henrike-Catherine Börstling, Mr. Christian Fühner, MLA, and Mr. Johannes Van Wieren.

ABVP presented India’s perspective on subjects such as academia, security, and technology’s role in empowering youth to lead progress, while JU offered insights into Germany’s approach to these areas and discussed India’s role in European and West Asian security. Both groups voiced a commitment to ongoing dialogue and cooperation, emphasizing the importance of youth as catalysts for positive change and international partnership.

The event highlighted the potential of youth-led dialogues in addressing mutual interests and underscored the role of cross-cultural exchanges in building lasting global ties.
