Criminal Genius or Desperate Dare? CCTV Captures Masked, Nude Burglar Breaking Wall of Mobile Shop and Escaping With Lakhs Worth of Phones

Bengaluru: In a bizarre, cinematic, and shockingly daring robbery, an unknown naked thief stole 85 mobile phones worth lakhs of rupees from a mobile shop near Hongasandra in Bommanahalli by breaking through the rear wall of the store in the dead of night.

The incident occurred at Hanuman Telecom, owned by local businessman Dinesh, on the midnight of May 9. According to police, the thief not only entered without clothes, but wore only a mask to hide his identity — a trick seemingly learned from past police arrests based on clothing evidence.

“He didn’t leave a single thread of clothing. He knew the CCTV wouldn’t help us if we couldn’t match clothing. It was like something out of a heist movie.”

Heist from the Shadows: Masked But Naked

The thief broke into the shop by demolishing part of the rear wall, slipping inside completely nude — save for a mask on his face. His method was calculated and chillingly precise, suggesting prior knowledge of surveillance systems and police tracking techniques.

Once inside, he systematically looted 85 smartphones from multiple companies, stuffed them into a bag, and vanished into the night — without triggering suspicion.

When Dinesh arrived the next morning, he was greeted by a scene of destruction — broken bricks, empty phone shelves, and the ghost of a criminal who left no trace behind... except his boldness

“He removed the bricks, got in, looted everything and left — naked. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the CCTV footage.”

CCTV Footage Leaves Police Stunned

The entire act was captured on CCTV, but due to the thief’s minimal disguise strategy, identifying him is proving difficult. He allegedly took this approach after learning that several past arrests had been made by identifying criminals through their clothing and footwear.

A case has been registered at Bommanahalli Police Station, and a massive manhunt is underway. Sources say the thief may be involved in multiple similar cases and may have operated with prior intelligence.
