“Congress is pulling the chariot of development, voters are God,” says Deputy Chief Minister at Yadgiri foundation event

Yadgiri: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar declared that the Congress-led government is steering Kalyana Karnataka on the development track, with historic investments and schemes to uplift all sectors, especially healthcare, education, and rural infrastructure.

Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony for various Health Department initiatives under the Arogya Aavichar scheme, held at Yadgiri District Stadium, the DCM mentioned the region's transformation under the leadership of Mallikarjun Kharge and CM Siddaramaiah.

"Power is ephemeral, but voters are God"

“Power is temporary, achievements fade, but the voter is divine. That’s why we’ve come here to express our gratitude,”
D.K. Shivakumar, Deputy Chief Minister

Shivakumar lauded the people of Kalyana Karnataka for electing six Congress MPs, calling it a strong message to the nation. He highlighted that on Day 1 of the Congress government’s formation, five key guarantees were rolled out to uplift the common citizen.

Massive Healthcare Push: ₹416 Crore Allocated

Highlighting the health sector investment, the DCM revealed that ₹416 crore worth of works have been undertaken in the region, making Hyderabad-Karnataka the second-highest healthcare investment zone after Bengaluru.

“This wouldn’t have been possible without the vision of Mallikarjun Kharge, who earlier built India’s biggest ESI hospital in this region,” Shivakumar noted.

371(J): A Game-Changer for Kalyana Karnataka

Shivakumar reminded the gathering of the special status accorded to Kalyana Karnataka under Article 371(J) during the UPA regime, crediting Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Dr. Manmohan Singh for this transformational policy.

“Congress has always worked for social justice and equality — it’s in our DNA,” he said.

Congress Guarantee Schemes Delivering Real Impact

From Grihalakshmi to Yuvanidhi, Shakti, Grihajyoti, and Annabhagya, the Congress-led government has focused on protecting the poor from inflation and ensuring dignity in everyday life. He also drew parallels with the UPA-era landmark laws like Right to Education, Employment  Guarantee (MGNREGA), Forest Rights Act, and Food Security Act.

Caste Census: For an Equitable Future

Shivakumar emphasised Congress’s resolve to re-examine the caste census for social equity and appealed to all communities to accurately participate in the upcoming process.

“We are not here for emotional politics; we are here for transformative politics,” he said.

Historic Day for Yadgiri: Banjara Bhavan Inaugurated

Alongside the health initiatives, the District Banjara Bhavan was also inaugurated in the presence of Mallikarjun Kharge, CM Siddaramaiah, and key cabinet members including Dinesh Gundurao, Sharanaprakash Patil, and Darshanapura.

Unity in Leadership, Commitment to Welfare

“The MLAs and ministers from Kalyana Karnataka are pulling the welfare chariot together,” Shivakumar declared, praising local leaders for bringing visible change.

He concluded by reaffirming the Congress party’s mission: "Development with equality, governance with gratitude."
