The recent decision of the Siddaramaiah-led government in Karnataka to credit money to beneficiaries' accounts instead of providing rice under the Anna Bhagya scheme . However, the Congress government had promised to provide 10 kg of rice to the beneficiaries, but they are now reneging on their word by offering only money at a lower rate. This decision undermines the trust of the people who rely on the scheme for their basic sustenance. The temporary arrangement of providing money is not a sustainable solution. Even though it serves as a lesson that blindly voting for a party solely for the sake of freebies is not good, the current Congress government has come into power. It is essential for the government to prioritize the welfare of its citizens and fulfill its commitments without further delay. The vulnerable sections of society should not bear the brunt of political disagreements.
