BMTC Introduces Additional Bus Services to Meet Passenger Demand

Karnataka Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy,Launches New BMTC Buses

Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has introduced 1,174 additional daily bus services across various routes in the city starting February 19. This is part of the public transport provider's efforts to meet growing passenger demand and traffic in Bengaluru and surrounding areas. 

The additional services include:

Vayu Vajra Airport Services:

- 988 total daily round-trip routes to Kempegowda International Airport across 144 routes and 18 major city locations

- 14 additional daily trips on Route No. KIA-8D between Sarjapur and the Airport via Doddakannelli, Bellandur Gate etc. 

Vajra Services

- 16 additional daily trips on Route No. V-500-HS between Sarjapur and Hebbal via Doddakannelli, Bellandur Gate, Marathahalli Bridge etc.  

- 30 extra daily trips on Route No. V-368 between Shivaji Nagar, Shanthinagar, Hulimavu and Bannerghatta National Park

Ordinary Services:

- 60 additional daily trips on Route No. 368 between Shivajinagar, Shanthinagar, Hulimavu and Bannerghatta National Park across 8 schedules

BMTC is continuously working to upgrade services across existing and new routes to meet the transport needs of over 40 lakh daily passengers in Bengaluru. The additional 1,174 bus services introduced are aligned with this goal and the rising demand, especially in Sarjapur, Airport routes and major city routes.
