AAP Accuses BJP of Using Agencies to Undermine Federalism, Issues Warning Against Arresting Delhi CM
Bengaluru: The Centre is allegedly planning to arrest Arvind Kejriwal through the CBI. Mohan Dasari, the state secretary of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), made this accusation today in the city while addressing the press. This statement follows a day after successful seat-sharing discussions between the AAP and the Congress in the INDIA alliance.
"Over the last two years, the Modi-led BJP government has conspired to arrest Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. AAP leaders' homes have been raided multiple times by the CBI and ED, yet no illegal money has been found," he said.
"Kejriwal has cooperated with the CBI, responding to seven summons from the Enforcement Directorate in two months. These summons, controlled by the BJP office, can't result in Kejriwal's arrest until the next hearing on March 16," he added.
Meanwhile, a protest at Freedom Park was led during the ongoing tension.
Prakash Nedungadi, AAP's state treasurer, accused the central government of using agencies like the CBI and ED to undermine the India alliance. "We will not abandon the India alliance under BJP's pressure. The central government's dictatorial approach includes blocking numerous X accounts," he asserted.
Jagadish V Sadam, AAP's state Media Incharge, criticized the BJP's alleged undemocratic practices in various states through 'Operation Kamala'. "If Arvind Kejriwal is arrested, the BJP will face repercussions. The people will hold them accountable for their actions," he warned.
Aam Aadmi Party state vice-president Suresh Rathod, State vice-president Rudrayya Navalimath, and others were present.
