Bengaluru: A tragic incident unfolded in Bengaluru on Sunday as a fire erupted in a perfume godown situated near a transformer in Ramasandra, Kumbalgodu. Three laborers lost their lives in the accident. The deceased have been identified as Salim, while the identities of the other victims are yet to be confirmed.
The blaze drew the attention of the fire brigade personnel and Kumbalgud police, who swiftly responded to the scene and initiated an inspection. Among those injured, Allabaksha, Afroz, Riyaz, Sadiq, and Imran suffered burns and have been rushed to Victoria Hospital for medical treatment.
Initial investigations revealed that the godown stored expired perfume and functioned in a setup akin to a scrap shop. The explosion occurred while seven individuals were present, with four managing to escape unharmed. Tragically, three individuals were trapped inside and succumbed to the flames.
Authorities are currently gathering information regarding the ownership of the facility and its regulatory permissions.
