Thief Poses as Postmaster, Swipes 40-Gram Gold Chain from Victim's Neck

Tumkuru: In a shocking incident in Doddapete, Madhugiri town of Tumakuru District, Karnataka, a postmaster allegedly stole a 40-gram gold chain from a woman's neck on Thursday.
The victim, identified as 58-year-old Geetha and a resident of Doddapet, was alone at home when an unknown youth arrived, claiming to be a postmaster. He deceitfully convinced her that he needed the gold chain removed for an official function at the post office.
Under the guise of assistance, the thief removed the gold chain from Geetha's neck and placed it on the table, before swiftly snatching it and fleeing the scene. A case has been registered at Madhugiri police station, and investigations are currently ongoing.
