Allegations of Harassment and Coercion Surface Amidst Attempted Suicide Case
Bengaluru: A distressing incident unfolded at Morarji Desai Residential School in Doddaballapur near Gollahalli, where a class 9 student, Nagarjuna, has been accused of attempting suicide by consuming cactus milk. The gravity of the situation led to a complaint being filed against the school's principal, warden, and health assistant on charges of endangering the student's life.
Following the consumption of cactus milk, Nagarjuna fell seriously ill and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the City. His condition is critical, with poison found in his throat, blood, lungs, and small intestine.
Nagarjuna, the nephew of social activist B R Bhaskar Prasad, had initially reached out to a school staff member, Bhaskar Prasad, expressing his need to go home due to fever and throat pain. However, his condition deteriorated rapidly, prompting immediate medical attention.
In his statement, Nagarjuna revealed that he was coerced by his peers into drinking cactus milk. He further alleged instances of physical and mental harassment by hostel mates, including disturbing acts of assault where they forced him to take their private parts into his mouth.
