Women's Day Walkathon Promotes Voting Awareness

Bengaluru: Thousands of girls and citizens joined hands in a special Walkathon organized in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, BBMP, and Cauvery Hospital, aiming to raise awareness about active participation and voting in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Actress Pranita Subhash inaugurated the event, which included a walkathon, bike rally, and bicycle rally at Cauvery Hospital premises in Marathahalli, commencing at 6:30 am on Sunday.

Addressing the gathering, actress Pranita Subhash Highlighted the importance of voting in the Lok Sabha elections, referring to it as the biggest festival of democracy. She encouraged girls to turn out in large numbers to cast their votes, applauding the initiative to organize a voting awareness program on Women's Day. She stressed that citizen participation in the voting process is crucial for the country's development.

Around 500 bikes, 1200 cycles, and numerous members of the public, especially women, participated . The walkathon traversed the surrounding areas of Marathahalli, spreading awareness about the significance of voting.

R.Selvamani, Special Commissioner of BBMP elections, urged citizens in Bengaluru, the IT capital of the country, to actively participate in the voting process and encourage their acquaintances and friends to do the same. He highlighted that the success of democracy hinges on citizen participation in the voting process.
