Bengaluru: Auto drivers in the City voiced their grievances regarding unfair practices by aggregate companies and the challenges posed by bike taxis during a convention organized by the Karnataka State Private Drivers' Association Federation at Town Hall on Saturday.
Speaking to the media, auto drivers highlighted their dissatisfaction with the current situation, citing issues such as being cheated by aggregate companies that allegedly take a significant portion of their earnings and misuse vehicles for personal use while operating them for business purposes.
Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy, present at the conference, addressed these concerns and assured the auto drivers of action. He pledged to fulfill 20 demands put forth by the private drivers and also vowed to cancel bike taxi services, acknowledging the adverse impact they have on traditional auto drivers.
The convention served as a platform for auto drivers to raise awareness about their struggles and advocate for solutions to protect their livelihoods amidst evolving transportation trends and practices in the city.
