B.Y. Vijayendra Leads Protests, Labels Decision Anti-People
Bengaluru: B.Y. Vijayendra, BJP state president and legislator, has vowed to intensify the party's struggle against the hike in petrol and diesel prices by the Congress government. Speaking at a massive protest near Freedom Park on Monday, Vijayendra condemned the decision as anti-people and declared that BJP would continue its fight until the increased rates are rolled back.
Addressing
the protestors, Vijayendra emphasized the opposition's duty to advocate for the
people, particularly farmers and the underprivileged. He criticized the
Congress-led government for neglecting development initiatives and accused
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of mismanaging the state's finances, leading
Karnataka towards economic instability.
Highlighting
the discontent within Congress ranks, Vijayendra pointed out disillusionment
among party leaders following electoral setbacks. He also criticized
Siddaramaiah's administration for failing to allocate funds for essential public
infrastructure and services.
Support for
Vijayendra's stance echoed across the BJP leadership present at the protest,
including Legislative Council member R. Ashok and former DCM C.N.
Ashwathanarayan. They called on the government to immediately withdraw the price
hikes, asserting that further economic burdens on the people were
unjustifiable.
