Celebrating Karnataka's Heritage in the Heart of Haridwar: Rashtriya Karnataka Rajyotsava 2024

Bengaluru: Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Officer's and Employee's Welfare Development Association is gearing up for the "Rashtriya Karnataka Rajyotsava 2024" celebrations, scheduled to take place at Haridwar in Uttarakhand. This year’s event aims to promote Karnataka's rich cultural heritage beyond its borders.

The association, known for its initiative to spread awareness about Karnataka's traditions, has chosen Haridwar as the venue for this year's celebration. Mr. A. Amruth Raj, President of the Association, emphasized the importance of showcasing Karnataka's 2500-year-old culture and Kannada language on a national and international platform.

The highlight of the event will be the participation of renowned personalities including artists, writers, and dignitaries from Karnataka. A. Amruth Raj also announced plans to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to Kannada literature and culture.

As part of their efforts to encourage participation, the association has announced a special offer exclusively for BBMP employees. This offer includes a fully funded trip to Haridwar, covering expenses for travel, accommodation, and meals amounting to ₹25,000 per person. Interested employees are urged to register their names at the Association office and make the necessary payments by August 15, 2024.

The festivities are set to begin on November 16th with the main event followed by local excursions to Haridwar, Rishikesh, and nearby tourist attractions. Participants will depart on November 15th and return on November 18th.

Previous celebrations of Karnataka Rajyotsava have been successfully held in Varanasi and Kathmandu, featuring notable figures like actress Shilpa Shetty and the King of Mysore State, Shri Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, as chief guests respectively.

The Association hopes this year's celebration in Haridwar will further strengthen cultural ties and promote Karnataka's rich heritage among diverse audiences.
