Protest in Bengaluru Over Delay in Recruitment Orders

Bengaluru: Candidates from the Department of Industrial Training and Employment staged a protest in Bengaluru on Monday, expressing frustration over the prolonged delay in issuing recruitment orders. The protesters, predominantly KPSC (Karnataka Public Service Commission) herd candidates, demanded immediate issuance of appointment orders.

The recruitment process for the post of Junior Training Officer (JTO) began with a notification issued in 2018, followed by the entrance exam conducted the same year. Document verification was completed in 2019, and the final selection list of eligible candidates was published in 2021. Subsequently, the list was forwarded to the department after verification of document authenticity.

Discontent arose when some candidates, rejected during the verification process, resorted to legal action against the KPSC. Despite the court’s involvement, only 400 out of 1,520 eligible candidates have received their appointment orders so far. The remaining candidates await their recruitment orders, prompting the protest against the alleged delay by the KPSC in complying with the court's directives.

The protesting candidates accused the KPSC of intentionally stalling the issuance of appointment orders, underscoring their demand for immediate action to resolve the issue.
