Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed his sorrow over the loss of esteemed Kannada literati Dr. II Kamala Hampana, stating that her death is a significant loss to Kannada literature.
Speaking to the media after visiting Hampana's mortal remains at Rabindrakala field, Siddaramaiah highlighted her contributions. "I met Kamala Hampana four or five months ago. She has written 48 works, the highest among women writers. She worked tirelessly for the Kannada language as a teacher, researcher, and writer. She also conducted extensive research on Prakrit language and served as a Kannada teacher in Bangalore, Mysore, and Vijayanagar," he said.
The Chief Minister offered his condolences, praying that God gives strength to Hampana's family to bear their sorrow and that her soul rests in eternal peace.
