Court Extends Custody in Renukaswamy Murder Case

Bengaluru: The court on Thursday extended the judicial custody of Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, his friend Pavithra Gowda, and others accused in the Renukaswamy murder case until July 18. All 17 accused, including Darshan and Pavithra, were presented before the magistrate via video conferencing from Bengaluru and Tumakuru prisons.

Renukaswamy, a 33-year-old fan of Darshan, had reportedly sent obscene messages to Gowda, angering Darshan and allegedly leading to Renukaswamy’s murder. The victim's body was discovered near a stormwater drain by an apartment in Sumanahalli on June 9.
