Investigation Gathers Momentum as Bengaluru Police Pursue Leads
Bengaluru:A month has passed since the tragic murder of Renukaswamy, and the Bengaluru Police have remained steadfast in their investigation. The case, which began with Renukaswamy's abduction from Chitradurga on June 8, has seen significant progress with the arrest of 17 individuals, including actor Darshan, allegedly involved in the crime.
During the investigation, over 180 witnesses have been examined, with their statements recorded in video format under CrPC 164 before a magistrate. This includes testimonies from security guards and auto drivers pivotal to the case. Additionally, more than 60 CCTV footage recordings have been scrutinized, along with other technical evidence gathered by the authorities.
Following the murder, the accused—identified as Raghavendra, Nikhil, Nandish, and Jagga—disposed of Renukaswamy's body near a canal in Kamakshipalya. The police tracked their movements through CCTV footage, including an auto rickshaw journey taken by two of the accused to Nayandahalli signal. The driver's statement led to positive identification of the suspects.
Further complicating the investigation, mutual acquaintance Samatha has been implicated for allegedly arranging an electric shock for one of the accused, Dhanraj. Meanwhile, Karthik faces interrogation for allegedly aiding another suspect, Pradosh, after the crime.
Amidst these developments, sources suggest a personal angle involving Pavithra Gowda and Vijayalakshmi, with Pavithra reportedly desiring similar luxuries as Vijayalakshmi. Reports claim disagreements over financial matters, including Darshan's recent acquisition of a luxury car valued at Rs 2.5 crore, leading to tensions in their relationship.
The Bengaluru Police, despite facing challenges, remain committed to uncovering the truth behind Renukaswamy's murder. They aim to file a chargesheet within three months as the investigation continues.
