Retired IAS Officer Lucos Vallattre Inaugurates Child Rights Training Program in Bengaluru
Bengaluru: Officer and Independent Consultant from Bengaluru,
inaugurated a three-day training program on 'Child Rights, Laws/Acts, and Child
Protection System' at Benson Town on Tuesday. The training, jointly organized
by the Anti-Child Labor Movement (K) Karnataka, Child Rights Monitoring Centre
Bangalore, and Padi Institute Mangalore.
This
initiative will focus on Child Rights, relevant Acts, advocacy strategies,
data-driven policy formulation, and the formation of resource teams.
Participants, including child rights activists, youth leaders, social workers,
and representatives from community development organizations across Karnataka,
are expected to apply their learnings in their districts to foster a protective
environment for children.
Addressing
the inauguration, Lucos Vallattre highlighted critical challenges in child
development and rightsin Present day. He stressed integrity, analytical
thinking, and collaborative efforts among civil society, government, and
organizations to address these challenges. Highlighting child abuse and
inadequate implementation of protective laws, Vallattre underscored the urgent need
for concerted action by all stakeholders.
Venkatesh
M., a member of the Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights,
highlighted the history and progress of the anti-child labor movement in
Karnataka.
The training
began with 55 participants from 31 districts of Karnataka engaging in discussions
and learning sessions aimed at enhancing their roles in safeguarding children's
rights and welfare.
