Health Camp Focuses on BBMP Contractual Workers with Emphasis on Cancer Diagnosis in Basavanagudi

Bengaluru: APS Institutions, in collaboration with Matru Chaya Jain Samaja, conducted a full-day free health checkup camp at the APS premises in Basavanagudi, commemorating Diwali with a focus on public welfare. The camp provided medical screenings, with a special emphasis on cancer diagnosis, serving around 400 individuals, including children, and specifically addressing the health needs of BBMP contractual scavengers.

APS Institutions, a 90-year-old educational organization known for supporting the all-round development of its community, organized the event with its staff and students in mind, underscoring its commitment to welfare. Matru Chaya Jain Samaja, an organization dedicated for over 25 years to the well-being of nature, humans, and animals, partnered in the event to extend its mission of community service. Matru Chaya regularly supports various causes, such as feeding doves and street animals, assisting Ashram students, covering school fees for Jain children, and arranging eye checkups for blind children.

More than 50 women representatives from Jain Samaj actively participated, wearing uniform-colored sarees as they assisted throughout the event with a warm and welcoming attitude. During his address, APS President Vishnu Bharath Alampalli expressed satisfaction in seeing the large group of volunteers serving with dedication. He emphasized the importance of health as the foundation of all achievements and encouraged practices such as meditation, regular exercise, timely meals, positive thinking, and strong social bonds to foster good health and support one’s ambitions.

The inauguration of the camp was attended by local MLA Sri Ravi Subramanya, APS President Vishnu Bharath Alampalli, Jain Samaja President Smt. Lalitha Jain, and former Corporator Smt. Kavitha Jain. Attendees received necessary medical assessments, with reports and recommendations provided for follow-up treatment where required.
