Questions Delay in Arrest of MLA’s Son

Bengaluru: BJP state vice-president Hartalu Halappa has alleged a breakdown of law and order in Shivamogga district. Speaking at the BJP state office on Thursday, "Jagannath Bhavan," in Malleshwaram, he raised concerns over the delay in arresting MLA’s son, Basavesh, while three others have been taken into custody.

Halappa questioned the role of the district in-charge minister, asking whether he had addressed the issue or consoled the affected woman officer. He criticized attempts to twist the case and emphasized that call records could provide clarity.

He also raised concerns about selective arrests and questioned why a person who provided a phone number had not been detained. He stated that public trust in the in-charge minister was diminishing due to the handling of the case.
