Elusive Fugitive Finally Falls into Police Net After Dodging 20 Warrants
Bengaluru: In a dramatic turn of events, the RT Nagar police have finally apprehended a murder accused who had been on the run for an astonishing 14 years. John, the prime suspect in the brutal 2011 stabbing of 20-year-old Chetan in Kempegowda Colony, was arrested in Malleswaram after years of evading justice.
The heinous crime, which shook the city, saw John's three accomplices swiftly apprehended after Chetan’s father filed a police complaint. However, John proved to be an elusive shadow, slipping through the fingers of law enforcement and vanishing into thin air. He craftily relocated across multiple states, maintaining a low profile and eluding capture despite over 20 arrest warrants issued against him.
The relentless pursuit of the fugitive had exhausted the police force, but a renewed crackdown ordered by City Police Commissioner B. Dayanand reignited the manhunt. Under the leadership of DCP (North) Saidulu Adawat, a special operation was launched to track down the absconder. Investigators struck gold when a tip-off from a known rowdy-sheeter and technical surveillance led them to John's whereabouts.
Authorities discovered that John’s parents resided in Vyalikaval, Bengaluru, while the fugitive himself frequently changed locations to avoid detection. After painstakingly piecing together crucial intelligence, police pinpointed his current hideout in Malleswaram and swiftly moved in for the arrest.
The long-overdue capture marks the end of a relentless 14-year pursuit, reinforcing Bengaluru Police’s commitment to bringing fugitives to justice. John is now in custody, and legal proceedings against him are set to resume without further delay.
