Attack Took Place Near Madina Nagar; Investigation Underway
Vijayapura: Notorious rowdy Bhagappa Harijan was shot dead and hacked to death with deadly weapons on various parts of his body, including his face and head, in Madina Nagar near the All-India Radio station, Vijayapura, on Tuesday night around 8:50 PM.
Earlier, on August 8, 2017, Bhagappa was shot at inside the court premises but survived. However, this time, fate turned against him, as indications suggest that the murder was well-planned.
Bhagappa, who lived in a rented house in Madina Nagar, Vijayapura, was attacked and killed by assailants with a machete as he was leaving his house around 8:50 PM. Sources claim that the power supply was deliberately switched off, and as soon as he stepped out, the firing began. He was also stabbed with a machete.
The postmortem report is yet to be released, and the investigation is underway
