Class 9 Student Dies After Altercation; One Taken Into Custody
Tamil Nadu: A dispute over a seat on a school bus took a tragic turn, leading to the death of a 14-year-old student. The incident occurred when two Class 9 students, Saravanan and Kandaguru, engaged in a fight that escalated, resulting in serious injuries.
During the altercation, Saravanan allegedly pushed Kandaguru, causing him to fall and hit his head. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Kandaguru succumbed to his injuries on Thursday morning.
Following the incident, Salem police took Saravanan into custody. Officials confirmed that he will be presented before the Juvenile Justice Board for further legal proceedings. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the altercation.
In a similar case, in October 2024, a 19-year-old student of Presidency College, A Sundar, was beaten to death by a group of students from Pachaiyappa College.
