Full-Train Wraps, Interior Promotions to Turn Bengaluru Metro Coaches into Advertising Hubs
Bengaluru: In a major commercial move, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has signed seven-year advertising agreements with Mudra Ventures and Lokesh Outdoor for exclusive branding rights on its Purple and Green Line trains, respectively.
Under the deal, which aims to diversify BMRCL’s revenue beyond passenger fares, the metro trains will feature full exterior wraps and interior advertising panels, turning the city's fast-expanding transit system into rolling brand billboards. BMRCL has projected a minimum annual revenue of ₹25 crore through these partnerships.
Speaking on the development, BMRCL Managing Director M Maheshwar Rao assured commuters that the focus on world-class service would remain intact. He emphasized that monetizing non-fare avenues like advertising is essential for ensuring financial sustainability and accelerating urban infrastructure development.
The agreement is expected to make Namma Metro more visible in the branding ecosystem, while offering companies a high-footfall, high-visibility platform to reach lakhs of daily riders.
