Karnataka Deputy CM Urges Party Workers to Avoid Celebrations, Banners Amid Ongoing Indo-Pak Tensions
Bengaluru: In a heartfelt and solemn message, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has appealed to his supporters, fans, and party workers to refrain from celebrating his birthday on May 15, citing the current security crisis at the nation’s borders.
As the country grapples with intensified military operations and rising tensions with Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack, Shivakumar issued a public statement urging restraint.
“Our soldiers are putting their lives on the line to fight terrorism. In this backdrop, it is not appropriate to celebrate my birthday,” he said.
Shivakumar also clarified that he will not be in town on May 15 and requested supporters to avoid visiting his residence or office, asking them to respect his sentiment in light of the grave national situation.
“It is time to stand with our soldiers who are fighting to protect the integrity and sovereignty of the nation. I also appeal to the party leaders, party workers, followers, and fans not to put up any flexes, banners, hoardings, or advertisements on my birthday,” he emphasized.
The Deputy CM's message has struck a chord amid the emotional and patriotic fervor gripping the nation, as India continues retaliatory operations under Operation Sindhoora and mourns the loss of military and civilian lives in cross-border violence.
