Shocking revelations from Civil Hospital spark outrage—only one survivor from 242 passengers, but 270 bodies recovered; DNA mismatch, missing doctors, and government silence fuel cover-up allegations

Ahmedabad: The aftermath of the AI-171 Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad is turning increasingly murky and heartbreaking. While the official death toll is still unconfirmed, doctors at the Civil Hospital dropped a bombshell on Saturday: 270 bodies have been recovered from the crash site. This number, 28 more than the total passengers on board, has triggered serious questions and allegations of a possible information blackout.

“We have received 270 bodies. DNA samples from 272 individuals have been collected. But 18 bodies remain unidentified,” said Dr. Dhaval Gameti, a senior physician at the Civil Hospital, during a press briefing.

The Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner was carrying 242 passengers, including 169 Indians, 53 Britons, 7 Portuguese, and one Canadian. Astonishingly, only one survivor has been confirmed so far—Vishwas, who miraculously escaped death. But now, confusion mounts. Where did the extra bodies come from?

Local Casualties Add to Chaos

It is now confirmed that at least 13 local residents, including four medical students, died when the aircraft crashed into a densely populated zone of Ahmedabad. The B.J. Medical College campus bore the brunt of the impact, and several doctors, students, and staff are feared missing.

“We suspect some of our hostel residents are unaccounted for. Post-mortems are happening without confirmed identities,” revealed a source from B.J. Medical College.

Despite these tragic discoveries, official agencies remain tight-lipped. The government has not issued any statement on the discrepancy between the number of passengers and recovered bodies. Instead, it claims that DNA identification is ongoing and the exact toll will be revealed only after the process is complete.

“I can speak about the hostel, but beyond that, I cannot say anything,” said Dr. Meenakshi Parikh, Dean of B.J. Medical College, when pressed about the possible death of her colleagues.

Allegations of Cover-Up

The lack of transparency is fueling anger and conspiracy theories. Many are alleging that the deaths of medical personnel and local residents are being intentionally downplayed.

“If there were only 242 people on board, how do we have 270 bodies? Something is being hidden,” claimed a hospital staff member, demanding accountability.

The Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has now formally launched an inquiry into the crash. However, the delay in disclosing facts and the government’s refusal to address the discrepancies have shaken public trust.

Public Outrage Mounts

With visuals of charred remains, collapsed hostels, and mourning families flooding social media, the public is demanding answers. This crash, already one of the worst in Indian aviation history, now threatens to become a political and ethical flashpoint.
