Students Can Avail Free Travel on Ordinary BMTC Services by Producing an Exam Hall Ticket; Extra Trips and Request Stops to Support the Commute
Bengaluru: In a student-friendly initiative, the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has announced that SSLC Exam-3 students will be allowed to travel free of cost on ordinary BMTC buses from July 5 to July 12, 2025. The free travel applies specifically to students commuting between their place of residence and designated examination centers.
To avail this benefit, students simply need to produce their SSLC Exam Hall Ticket or Admission Ticket while boarding.
“This move is in the interest of the student community, aiming to ease their commute and reduce travel-related stress during the exam period,”
a senior BMTC official stated.
BMTC Exam Support Measures at a Glance
As part of its efforts to support students during SSLC Exam-3, BMTC has introduced the following facilities:

✅ Additional bus trips will be operated if demand increases.

✅ Request stops will be provided near examination centres to make commuting more convenient for students.
BMTC has a long-standing tradition of issuing student concessional passes and is further extending its support during critical examination periods to enhance accessibility and reduce the financial burden on students.
