Conflicting Statements Emerge as Iran Confirms Ceasefire but Blames Israel for War Outbreak; US President Donald Trump Announces Peace Deal While Tehran Calls for Caution

Washington: After 12 days of intense conflict, missile strikes, and mounting casualties, Tehran has officially confirmed the end of the war between Israel and Iran, declaring that a ceasefire has come into effect between the two rival nations.

Former US President Donald Trump, in a dramatic announcement on his social media platform Truth Social, stated:

"Congratulations to everyone. Israel and Iran have agreed to a complete ceasefire. The ceasefire will begin in about 6 hours, after Israel and Iran complete their final operations. It will last for 12 hours. Then the war will end."

The announcement triggered a wave of relief across international diplomatic circles. However, Tehran quickly issued a contradictory statement through Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, casting doubt on the authenticity of a mutual agreement.

"Israel started the war with Iran. So far, there has been no agreement on a ceasefire or cessation of military operations. If Israel stops its illegal aggression, we have no intention of continuing the war. The final decision on the cessation of our military operations will be taken later," he said.

Despite these doubts, Iranian military action escalated soon after. A missile strike by Iran on the southern Israeli city of Beer Sheva led to the death of at least three civilians, with several more injured. The missile hit a residential complex, leaving behind a horrifying trail of destruction.

Videos now circulating on social media show a completely devastated neighborhood, with burned cars, collapsed buildings, and charred trees, signaling the terrifying intensity of the strike.

Amid growing international condemnation and humanitarian concerns, Iran has now confirmed a ceasefire, stating that it "fought until the last moment" to bring about peace.

"The ceasefire is effective immediately. Please do not violate it," Trump reiterated in a fresh post on Truth.

Meanwhile, Israel has remained silent, with no official statement released so far regarding the ceasefire declaration.

The global community continues to monitor the region closely as questions remain over the durability and sincerity of the peace deal.
