Youth Attacked With Knife While Heading to Bar to Celebrate RCB’s First-Ever IPL Title; Narrow Escape From Fatal Injury
Bengaluru: A shocking incident marred the joyful celebrations of Royal Challengers Bangalore's historic IPL 2025 win, as a young fan was stabbed in the neck by miscreants near Jalahalli Cross in Peenya, while on his way to a bar to celebrate the team’s maiden IPL trophy.
The incident reportedly took place around 12 PM, when the victim – a die-hard RCB supporter – was heading to a local bar to join his friends in the euphoric celebration. According to eye-witnesses, unidentified miscreants confronted him and stabbed him with a knife, narrowly missing a fatal blow. The youth collapsed on the road, and the assailants fled the scene immediately.
"Thankfully, the stab did not hit any vital artery. The young man was bleeding but conscious. Locals rushed him to a nearby private hospital," said a local eyewitness who helped rescue him.
The Peenya police have registered a case and launched a search for the attackers. Preliminary investigations suggest a possible personal altercation or random violence. CCTV footage from the area is being examined.
This violent episode stands in stark contrast to the city-wide celebrations witnessed after RCB lifted their first IPL trophy after 18 years of heartbreak. Authorities have urged fans to remain safe and vigilant during the ongoing celebrations.
