"Family’s only livelihood vanished overnight — CCTV footage reveals cunning escape by bike-borne criminals"
Nelamangala: In a disturbing incident that has rocked the peaceful locality of Jakkasandra in Nelamangala city, a goods vehicle parked in front of a house was stolen overnight by a gang of thieves. The vehicle, an Ashok Leyland goods carrier, was the sole source of income for Chikkanna, a local resident who has been living in a rented house with his family for the last three years.
The incident occurred late in the night when Chikkanna parked the vehicle as usual outside his residence. To his horror, when he woke up the next morning, the vehicle had vanished without a trace.
"We never imagined such a thing would happen in our locality. This was our only means to survive," said a devastated Chikkanna while speaking to News Flash.
CCTV Footage Uncovers Thieves’ Clever Escape Strategy
Upon examining CCTV footage from neighboring houses, startling details came to light. The thieves, who arrived on a motorbike, managed to steal the parked goods vehicle, and after driving it for about 10 km, they loaded the very motorbike into the stolen vehicle — a chilling sign of how premeditated and organised the crime was.
"It was clearly a planned heist. The bike used for arrival was later concealed in the stolen truck. We are tracing their movement through multiple CCTV angles," a police official from Nelamangala Town Police Station confirmed.
Police Launch Search Operation
A case has been officially registered, and the Nelamangala Town Police are on high alert. Efforts are underway to track down the culprits based on the CCTV footage and movement patterns. Police are confident that the footage will play a crucial role in identifying and apprehending the accused.
Meanwhile, residents in the area are living in fear, as this incident has exposed security lapses and raised concerns about increasing criminal activity in the otherwise calm suburb.
“It’s not just theft, it’s the destruction of a family’s livelihood. We urge the police to act swiftly,” demanded a local resident.
A Cry for Help and Justice
For Chikkanna’s family, the stolen vehicle wasn’t just a machine — it was a lifeline. The theft has crippled their source of daily income, and the community is rallying behind them, urging quick justice and stricter patrol in the area.
