Fatal accident near Pemmanahalli in Nelamangala claims the life of a 46-year-old Gangabai; tractor hits two-wheeler head-on—Dabaspet police register a case
Bengaluru: In a heart-wrenching road accident that unfolded near Pemmanahalli village in Dabaspet of Nelamangala Taluk of Bengaluru district, a 46-year-old woman lost her life after a tractor rammed into a two-wheeler coming from the opposite direction. The tragic incident occurred as the mother and son were en route from Dabaspet towards Doddaballapura on a motorbike.
The deceased has been identified as Gangabai, a resident of Pemmanahalli village, while the injured two-wheeler rider has been identified as Nagesh Naik, her son, originally from Susheelanagar in Sandur taluk of Ballari district.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident was sudden and brutal. The speeding tractor, coming from the opposite side, collided head-on with the two-wheeler, throwing both riders off balance.
"The wheel of the tractor ran over Gangabai, crushing her to death on the spot while her son sustained injuries," confirmed a local source.
The mother-son duo had reportedly set out early in the morning when the mishap occurred. The force of the collision was such that Gangabai, who was sitting pillion, suffered instant fatal injuries. Shock and panic gripped the locals as they rushed to the scene.
Police officials from Dabaspet Police Station swiftly arrived at the location and registered a case. The tractor driver is expected to be questioned in connection with the incident.
Locals have demanded better road safety measures in the area, citing the increasing number of fatal accidents along the Dabaspet-Doddaballapura stretch.
