Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) to Host Farmer Leaders from Across India; Jagjit Singh Dalaiwal to Inaugurate Event at Gandhi Bhavan

Bengaluru: The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) Organisation, Karnataka is set to organise a national-level farmers’ conference on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Gandhi Bhavan, Bengaluru. The conference will address pressing issues related to the Minimum Support Price (MSP) Guarantee Act and the future direction of the farmers’ movement across India.

The event will be inaugurated by Jagjit Singh Dalaiwal, a prominent farmers’ leader who has been on a 130-day hunger strike at the Kanori border in Delhi demanding the implementation of the MSP Guarantee Act to ensure fair prices for farmers’ produce.

Kuruburu Shantakumar, State President of the Federation of State Farmers’ Organisations, will preside over the conference, which is expected to witness participation from leading farmer representatives from various states, including:

  • Abhimanyu Kohar from Haryana

  • Harpal Chaudhary from Uttar Pradesh

  • Satnam Singh Behu from Punjab

  • B.R. Pandyan from Tamil Nadu

  • Venkateswara Rao from Telangana

The conference aims to bring together farmer voices from across India to formulate a national strategy for future agitations and policy interventions related to agriculture, MSP, and farmers' rights.

A press conference has also been scheduled at 1:30 PM on the same day at Gandhi Bhavan, where Jagjit Singh Dalaiwal will address the media on the next phase of the farmers’ movement, including upcoming nationwide agitations.

“We request members of the media to attend and report on this important gathering of India’s farmer leaders,” said Kuruburu Shantakumar in a signed statement.
