Gadchiroli Encounter: Security Forces Recover Firearms After Eight-Hour Gunfight; Search for Remaining Naxalites Continues
Gadchiroli: At least four Naxalites, including three women, were killed in a fierce encounter on Wednesday in the Koparshi forest area along the Maharashtra-Chhattisgarh border, officials confirmed. The incident occurred between Gadchiroli district in Maharashtra and Narayanpur district in Chhattisgarh, highlighting ongoing security challenges in the region.
Joint Operation by Security Forces
Following credible intelligence on August 25 regarding the presence of Naxalites, two teams of the Anti-Naxal Commando Force (ANCF) and the CRPF’s Rapid Action Force (RAF) were deployed to the area. A team led by Additional Superintendent of Police M. Ramesh reached the forest this morning to carry out a search operation.
During the operation, the Naxalites reportedly opened fire, prompting security forces to counter-attack. The resulting gunfight lasted approximately eight hours, ending with the deaths of three women and one man.

Officials confirmed the recovery of multiple weapons from the encounter site, including:

In an official statement, police authorities stated:
