Bengaluru: In a major development in the Renukaswamy murder case, police on Thursday arrested Pavithra Gowda, the A1 accused, from her residence in Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Bengaluru, after the Supreme Court cancelled her bail along with that of six others, including Kannada actor Darshan.

According to police sources, the arrests were carried out in the presence of the investigating officer following the apex court’s order. A two-judge bench of Justices JB Pardiwala and R Mahadevan delivered the verdict, allowing the Karnataka government’s appeal against the High Court’s bail order.

"Victory may be slow, but God's protection will always be there. I have chosen patience and faith," Pavithra Gowda had posted on social media earlier in the day, hours before her arrest.

Supreme Court Cancels Bail of Seven Accused

The Supreme Court revoked the bail granted to seven accused, including Darshan and Pavithra Gowda, in connection with the high-profile murder case. The decision comes after the Karnataka government challenged the High Court’s earlier order granting bail, citing the seriousness of the charges and the potential to influence witnesses.

Four Arrested So Far
