Woman Strangles Husband in Nai Mandi Police Station Area
Muzaffarnagar: A sensational case of domestic violence turned fatal in the Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred in the Nai Mandi police station area, where a woman, identified as Kavita (30), strangled her husband, Sanjay Kumar (40) to death on Friday. Police confirmed that the accused was taken into custody soon after the complaint was filed.
Father of Deceased Files Complaint
Police station in-charge Inspector Dinesh Chandra Baghel confirmed that the victim’s father, Bhopal Singh, lodged a complaint against his daughter-in-law. Following the complaint, the police arrested Kavita on Saturday and registered a case of murder.
“Kavita strangled Sanjay Kumar to death while he was sleeping. She confessed during interrogation that she took this extreme step because her husband neglected her due to his first wife,” said Inspector Baghel.
Accused Confesses Motive Behind the Murder
During interrogation, Kavita admitted to strangling her husband while he was asleep. She revealed that her motive was her husband’s indifference towards her, as he continued to give importance to his first wife.
First Wife Still Resides in Native Village
Police sources revealed that Sanjay and Kavita got married in 2000, but Sanjay’s first wife still lives in his native village, Tanda Mazra. Investigations are underway to gather more details about the marital discord and the circumstances that led to the murder.
The case has sent shockwaves across the district, highlighting the tragic consequences of unresolved family disputes. Police officials stated that further investigation is ongoing, and necessary legal action will follow.
