Historic Steps Taken for Progress of Jammu, Says Minister Joshi

Bengaluru: In statements to the media on Tuesday following a virtual event at Rani Chennamma University in Belagavi, Union Minister for Mine, Coal and Law Pralhad Joshi praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to develop the Jammu region.

Mr. Joshi said the era of development has begun in Jammu and Kashmir under PM Modi’s leadership. He noted that the PM has released grants for universities and inaugurated various development projects in Jammu.

The Minister stated that under the Usha Yojana scheme, PM Modi has approved funds amounting to Rs 3,600 crore for 78 projects at universities across India, including those in Karnataka and Jammu and Kashmir.

Highlighting the grants for some universities, Mr. Joshi said Rani Chennamma University of Belagavi will receive Rs 100 crore, while Gulbarga University and Karnataka University in Dharwad will each get Rs 20 crore.

The Minister remarked that by focusing on educating youth and building infrastructure, PM Modi has elevated India into a Vishwa Guru or world leader.
