Bengaluru: All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO) organized a symbolic protest today at Freedom Park, advocating for the cancellation of public examinations for students in classes 5, 8, and 9 for the current academic year.
The organization cited a recent Supreme Court verdict that ordered the cancellation of these examinations. However, despite the judicial directive, the state government opted to suspend the exams temporarily and reschedule them. This decision has sparked concern among students, teachers, and parents, who question the government's insistence on conducting the exams despite court rulings.
Expressing solidarity with the affected students and their families, the AIDSO State Committee urged authorities to cancel the exams for the current academic year. They propose that a democratic decision-making process be adopted to determine the conduct of public examinations in the following academic year.
Approximately 200 individuals, including parents of students and AIDSO members, participated in the protest, underscoring the widespread concern and support for the cause.
