Bengaluru: Housing and Minorities Welfare Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan expressed his disappointment with the working style of Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) officials, citing a lack of desired results.
During a progress review meeting with KHB Chairman Shivalingegowda on Thursday, Khan criticized the slow progress of the Chikkajala Integrated Township and Kumbalgod Satellite Town schemes. He appointed a separate team of officials and instructed them to show progress within three months. Despite substantial expenditure on legal battles, including land acquisition cases, not a single case has been resolved. Khan stated that this issue would be discussed with the state advocate general.
The minister directed officials to focus on auctioning corner sites in KHB to generate resources, aiming to mobilize Rs 1000 crore within three months and identify land for new layout formation.
KHB Chairman Shivalingegowda warned that stern action would be taken against non-performing officials. He highlighted the high demand for KHB sites and the need to form new layouts accordingly.
Department Secretary Naveen Raj Singh, Commissioner Kavita Mannikeri, and Chief Engineer Sharanappa were present.
