Accident Occurs Near Kempainadoddi Village, Police Arrest Truck Driver

Bengaluru: Two students lost their lives while the driver of their SUV was seriously injured after the vehicle collided with a truck on the Bengaluru-Mysuru expressway, police reported on Saturday. The victims were identified as Vishwa (22) and Surya (18), both residents of Bommasandra in Bengaluru.

Vishwa was pursuing a diploma course, and Surya was a second-year Pre-University student. The accident occurred near Kempainadoddi village in Ramanagara on Friday night as the students were returning from Mysuru. Their SUV, driven by Suhas, allegedly collided with a truck in the wrong lane.

Both students were rushed to the nearest hospital but were declared brought dead. Suhas sustained severe injuries but is now out of danger, according to a senior traffic police official.

A case has been registered under sections 297 and 304a of the Indian Penal Code, and the truck driver has been arrested in connection with the accident.
