Call for Awareness and Action from Authorities and Citizens Alike

Are They Not Humans?

Bengaluru: Poor men and boys working as porters, striving to earn a livelihood for themselves and their families, are often seen traveling in goods vehicles along with the materials they transport. Alarmingly, in some vehicles with provisions for doors, these individuals are locked inside the luggage area.

This dangerous practice poses significant risks, particularly if something goes wrong while in traffic or if the vehicle stalls. Trapped in these conditions, these workers have no easy means of escape, jeopardizing their safety.

The root cause appears to be a lack of awareness rather than negligence. Addressing this issue requires action from the RTO and traffic police. However, it also demands care and concern from all responsible citizens to ensure the safety and dignity of these fellow human beings.
