Bengaluru: BJP says they respect women, stand in favour of all religions and castes. But where have their ethics gone, as they are now supporting R.R. Nagar BJP MLA Munirathna Naidu, who made derogatory remarks about society by tarnishing the name of the Dalit community and women, he should be disqualified from his position as MLA, said Dalit Sangharsh Samiti (DSS) Leader Mavalli Shankar, while addressing the press.
He was speaking on behalf of Samvidhana Samrakshana Maha Okkuta (SSMO). A massive protest is scheduled for October 1 at Freedom Park against R.R. Nagar BJP MLA Munirathna, with participation from all districts. This was announced during a press meet at the Press Club on Saturday.
While speaking with News Flash, Kannada actor Srinagar Kitty said, “Munirathna has insulted society. His allegations against the Dalit community cannot be tolerated, nor does he have the right to make offensive remarks about women. As we heard in the leaked audio clip from September 13, his comments were extremely rude. He deserves to resign from the party, and I urge the Speaker of Karnataka to initiate his resignation process.”
Mavalli Shankar also said that Munirathna illegally acquired property should be confiscated, and he should be exiled from Karnataka. He should be politically boycotted, and the Special Investigation Team (SIT) handling his case should complete the investigation within the stipulated time frame.
Despite increasing literacy rates in recent times, the rising cases of caste-based violence are causing concern about the future of India. The people of the state should unanimously condemn the actions of the arrogant Munirathna, who was elected to represent all communities by winning votes from all sections of society under the constitution.
