Event Features Notable Guests, Performances, and Launch of Annual Magazine

Bengaluru: APS College of Commerce celebrated its Annual Cultural and Sports Fest (Talents Day) on 21st October 2024. The event, which drew much attention and excitement, was graced by prominent chief guests, including Dr. N.R. Ramesh, Former BJP President of South Bengaluru, Sandalwood actress Dr. Priyanka Upendra, and Sandalwood singer-actress Smt. Rohini Raghunandan. Trustees of the Acharya Pathasala Institution, led by Dr. Paramesh, Principal of APS College of Commerce, also joined the celebration.

The ceremony commenced with a welcome address by Dr. B. Paramesh, followed by the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the institution’s dedication to the pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment. A significant moment of the event was the unveiling of the college's annual magazine, "Abhimuka," by the esteemed chief guests. 

In his address, Dr. N.R. Ramesh highlighted the impressive achievements of APS College and its institutions, which have played a key role in South Bengaluru’s educational landscape. He praised the college's consistent academic results and the institution’s preparedness in the emerging field of Artificial Intelligence.

Smt. Rohini Raghunandan captivated the audience with a thoughtful speech on the importance of cultural arts and music in shaping society. She urged students to explore their artistic talents, emphasizing the value of creativity in personal development. To the delight of the audience, she also performed a brief musical piece, which was met with enthusiastic applause. 

Dr. Priyanka Upendra, in her speech, commended the students for their talent and enthusiasm, encouraging them to continue honing their skills. Her words were both motivational and appreciative of the youthful energy present at the event. 

The president of the event, CA Dr. Vishnubharat Allampalli, who is also the head of the APS Educational Trust, delivered a thought-provoking speech advising students to constantly acquire knowledge to remain competitive in today’s fast-evolving world. He also praised the hidden talents displayed by students throughout the program.

APS Educational Institutions, which encompasses 15 wings from kindergarten to postgraduate programs, including APS College of Commerce, has consistently delivered excellent academic results, boasting a 95% pass rate and 100% placement for students. The college is committed to preparing students for the future, including developments in Artificial Intelligence and other emerging fields.

The fest concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Venkateshaiah K.M. from the Department of Kannada, expressing gratitude to the chief guests, faculty, and students. The entire program was anchored by Dr. Bhagyalakshmi S. from the Department of Kannada, with contributions from both teaching and non-teaching staff. The inauguration of the Cultural and Sports Fest was hailed as a grand success, showcasing talent, inspiring speeches, and a healthy spirit of competition among the students.
