Awareness Campaign Focuses on HIV and AIDS Education Alongside Community Outreach
Bengaluru: The Lions Club of Chandralayout Elite observed World AIDS Day today at ESI Hospital, Rajajinagar, with a focus on raising awareness about HIV and AIDS among the public. The event was organized by Lion Dr. Shilpa Devanand, the President, and supported by members including Dr. Prajwala, Lion Anandakumari, Lion B S Smitha, Nagaratna, and Dr. Chaitanya.
A detailed awareness session was conducted by Dr. Gayatri from the ESI Community Medicine Department. The session highlighted the significance of education and information in addressing issues related to HIV and AIDS. The presence of Zone Chairperson, Lion Pankajakshi, and District Membership Chairperson, Lion S L Venkatesh, lent importance to the occasion.
Special acknowledgment was extended to Dr. Girish M S, Head of the Skin Department, for his crucial role in organizing the program. As part of the initiative, the club also distributed food to attendants at the "Lions 317A Hunger Relief Center." This effort underlined the club’s ongoing commitment to promoting community health and supporting those in need, making the event a meaningful contribution to World AIDS Day.
