Govt Committed to Implementing Old Pension Scheme
Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who is also the KPCC president, has stated that the next elections will be held under his leadership.
Speaking at a conference of the State Government Employees' Association at Bengaluru Palace Grounds on Thursday, Shivakumar reaffirmed the Congress party’s commitment to implementing the Old Pension Scheme (OPS). He urged employees to be patient, assuring them that the government remains dedicated to the issue.
When Shivakumar reiterated his promise to implement OPS, employees chanted his name in support. He then urged the audience to remain silent and stated, "The next time I stand for election, when I walk under my leadership, please use this word. I am the one who is in the Vidhana Soudha. I will not leave for another eight years. My health is still strong. Trust me."
Shivakumar informed that a committee under the chairmanship of Anjum Parvez has been formed to examine the implementation of OPS. The government will take necessary steps based on the committee's findings.
Emphasizing the role of government employees, he stated, "The government's chariot is pulled by government employees. Without you, the wheel of government will not move forward. Your association is working constructively. Government work is not just a position; it is a responsibility. You should handle the responsibility properly with a rich heart."
