Bolero Gang Strikes at Kallunayakanahalli; Owner Devastated as Years of Livelihood Vanish Overnight

Nelamangala: In a sensational and brazen act of theft, a gang of daring robbers stormed into Kallunayakanahalli village under Dobbaspet police station limits and made away with 30 pigs worth a staggering ₹80 lakh, sending shockwaves across the farming community.

The incident occurred on the night of May 21, when a well-organised group arrived on a bike, an Omni car, and a Bolero vehicle, targeting the pig shed of Lakshman, a longtime resident and pig rearer from the village. The gang broke the lock of the shed located on Lakshman’s farmland and swiftly executed the theft. Shockingly, three individuals were reportedly present inside the shed during the crime, but the robbers still managed to overpower the situation and flee with the animals.

“These pigs were my only source of livelihood. I have spent years building this shed and rearing them. Everything is gone in one night,”
says a heartbroken Lakshman, who has now filed a complaint with the Dobbaspet police.

The thieves are believed to be part of a larger organised network, and the precision with which the crime was executed has raised serious concerns about the security of rural properties. The Dobbaspet Police have launched an intensive investigation and are actively searching for the culprits. Authorities suspect that the gang had prior knowledge of the shed's operations and may have scouted the area in advance.

Police sources indicate that the stolen pigs' value, pegged at ₹80 lakh, makes this one of the most high-value animal thefts in the region in recent times.

“We are analysing CCTV footage, vehicle routes, and conducting inquiries in nearby areas. This is not just a theft — it’s a calculated strike,”
said a senior police official from Dabaspet station.

The incident has sparked fear among local farmers, especially those involved in animal husbandry. Many are now demanding increased night patrols and rural surveillance to prevent such crimes.

As investigations intensify, the villagers and netizens alike await justice for Lakshman and a strong message against rural crime.
