External Affairs Minister Asserts India’s Uncompromising Stance on Terrorism Even as Ceasefire is Brokered by US President Trump

New Delhi: In a significant turn of events, India and Pakistan have agreed to end their three-day-long military confrontation, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar confirmed on Saturday. The announcement follows US President Donald Trump’s mediation, which led to a “complete and immediate ceasefire” between the two nations.

Taking to social media, Jaishankar stated:

“India and Pakistan have reached a mutual understanding to cease firing and military operations as of today.”

However, he firmly clarified that India’s firm stand against terrorism remains unchanged:

“India has consistently maintained an uncompromising stance against any form of terrorism and incitement. That will continue,” he posted.

The ceasefire comes after days of intense military exchanges, including India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’, counter-infiltration ops in Jammu & Kashmir, and long-range strikes. While both nations have now opted for diplomatic engagement, India's anti-terror operations and intelligence measures are expected to persist as part of national security policy.

Trump, confirming the ceasefire on Saturday, remarked:

“India and Pakistan have shown wisdom. I am happy to announce this deal.”

The international community has welcomed the development as a positive step toward regional stability, though analysts note that underlying tensions remain.
