Vijayendra Tears Into Congress: Accuses State Govt of School Closures, Corruption, Misgovernance and Attacks on Opposition
Bengaluru: In a high-voltage press interaction at BJP’s state headquarters "Jagannath Bhavan" in Malleswaram, BJP Karnataka State President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra launched a scathing attack on the Congress-led state government while lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership on completing 11 years as PM.
Vijayendra didn’t mince words, calling the Congress regime in Karnataka “a chaotic real estate committee, not a government”, and accused it of acting against public interest, especially the poor, students, and farmers.
“India Becomes World’s Fourth-Largest Economy, Credit Goes to Modi’s Decisive Leadership”
Vijayendra proudly declared that India had surpassed Japan to become the 4th largest economy in the world, attributing this historic achievement to PM Narendra Modi’s bold and people-centric governance.
"In just 11 years, PM Modi’s vision has transformed India’s global standing. From Digital India to Jan Dhan Yojana, Swachh Bharat to Startup India, every initiative has been about empowering the last person in line," he said.
He noted that Karnataka, too, had significantly benefited from the Modi administration:
-
₹2,702 crore sanctioned for railway development
-
₹5,000 crore spent under NDA-2 for railway electrification
-
10 Vande Bharat Express trains allocated to Karnataka
-
Massive funding for highways and infrastructure
“Siddaramaiah Skips NITI Aayog Meeting: Betrayal of Karnataka’s People”
Vijayendra came down heavily on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for skipping the recent NITI Aayog meeting, which was chaired by PM Modi.
"Even Congress-ruled states like Himachal Pradesh and Telangana sent their CMs. Siddaramaiah deliberately chose to ignore Karnataka’s interests just to confront the Centre. Is he the CM of Karnataka or merely a representative of the Congress party?" he thundered.
“Congress Govt Closing Jan Aushadhi Centres to Erase Modi’s Legacy”
In a bold accusation, Vijayendra slammed the Congress-led government’s alleged move to shut down Jan Aushadhi centers in government hospitals.
"This move is not technical—it’s political. Modi’s face on the board bothers this government more than the pain of the poor. These centres have saved ₹30,000–₹40,000 crore for the poor. And now they want to shut them down?" he asked.
Vijayendra warned that BJP would launch state-wide protests if the decision wasn’t reversed.
“Are District Names Being Changed to Satisfy Ministers’ Egos?”
Reacting to the renaming of Ramanagara to Bangalore South, Vijayendra sarcastically questioned the real motive behind such moves.
"Is this governance or appeasement politics? What benefit does a farmer in Channapatna get if you rename the district? Is governance now just about renaming and rebranding?" he mocked.
He also lashed out at the decision to appoint actress Tamannaah Bhatia as Mysore Sandal Soap brand ambassador for ₹6.5 crore:
"When the soap brand doesn’t make even ₹60 lakh a year, is ₹6.5 crore justified? What kind of financial madness is this?"
“Congress Turning Excise Policy into Addiction Policy”
Ripping into the government’s excise policy, Vijayendra said:
"Excise duties have been increased by 200–250%. This is not taxation, it’s monetization of alcoholism. The government is pushing people into addiction to balance its books!"
“Child Dies During Traffic Stop: A Tragedy of Government Pressure”
Referring to a tragic incident in Mandya, where a child died after falling from a bike while the family was being stopped by the police during an emergency, Vijayendra said:
"The fault lies with the system. Traffic cops are under pressure to meet revenue targets—this is not governance, it’s harassment."
“Congress Is Afraid of Opposition’s Voice”
Vijayendra condemned what he called a systematic crackdown on BJP MLAs by the Congress government.
"FIRs on MLAs for protests in Kalaburagi? This is Congress’ democracy—choke the opposition, slap defamation cases, and manipulate the assembly."
He mentioned the suspension of 18 BJP MLAs, labeling it as "blatant misuse of power."
“BJP’s Pamphlet Is a Charge Sheet, Not Defamation”
Defending the BJP’s controversial pamphlet titled “A Collection Government That’s a Curse on Karnataka,” he said:
"The Congress can file all the defamation cases it wants—we stand by every word. Corruption, extortion, and price hikes—this is their real record."
He demanded immediate funding for Krishna Upper Bank Project, better seed distribution, and drought preparedness.
“Real Estate Deals, Not Real Development”
"Is real estate the only standard of governance? Is this a government or a cartel of ministers pushing land deals, sandalwood endorsements, and liquor sales?" he asked in conclusion.
“BJP Expels Two MLAs for Anti-Party Activities”
On a separate note, Vijayendra confirmed that S.T. Somashekhar and Shivaram Hebbar were expelled for anti-party actions.
"Our disciplinary committee took this step after due process. The party will not tolerate betrayal—whether we are in power or not."
He dismissed remarks made by D.K. Shivakumar, saying the matter was an internal BJP issue, not for public commentary.
