This is not an isolated incident. For decades,
Pakistan has harboured, trained, and funded terrorist outfits like
Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen. The 2001 Indian
Parliament attack, the 26/11 Mumbai carnage, the Pulwama massacre, and now
Pahalgam, all trace their roots to Pakistan’s soil. Every time peace is on the
horizon, Rawalpindi’s military establishment sabotages it with bloodshed.
Even worse is Pakistan’s consistent misuse of
international platforms and civilian infrastructure for covert operations. As
revealed by Col. Sofia Qureshi, Pakistan recently used civilian flights as
cover to hide military movements, a blatant violation of international aviation
norms.
The world must no longer treat Pakistan as a
misunderstood neighbour. It is a rogue state with no respect for ceasefires, no
accountability for terrorism, and no commitment to diplomacy. While its
politicians speak of peace, its army and ISI orchestrate war.
India, with immense restraint, continues to uphold
international law. But restraint must not be mistaken for weakness. It is time
global powers, especially the UN and the U.S., stop playing mediator and start
holding Pakistan accountable for its duplicity.
