Pakistani SIM Card and ID Found at Site; Identities of Victims Yet to Be Confirmed, Say Police

Jaisalmer (Rajasthan), June 30: In a chilling discovery near the India-Pakistan border, the partially decomposed bodies of a minor girl and a young man were found in the Sadhewala area of Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer district, police confirmed Today.

The bodies were located approximately 10–12 kilometres inside Indian territory from the international border.

According to Jaisalmer SP Sudhir Chaudhary, the deceased appears to have died about a week ago, based on the level of decomposition.

“The bodies were found in the border area of Sadhewala and have been shifted to the Ramgarh Community Health Centre for post-mortem.”
said SP Sudhir Chaudhary, adding that the exact cause of death will be determined after forensic examination.

Pakistani SIM and ID Card Recovered at Scene

In a startling development, police recovered a Pakistani SIM card and an identity card belonging to an 18-year-old male named Ravi Kumar from the spot. The presence of foreign telecom equipment and ID near the international border has raised serious questions about the origin of the victims and the circumstances of their deaths.

“It is not yet clear whether the victims are Indian or Pakistani nationals. We are verifying all documents and investigating possible border infiltration or foul play,”
a senior police officer involved in the case said.

Cross-Border Angle Not Ruled Out

Given the location of the bodies near the sensitive international border and the recovery of a Pakistani SIM card, authorities are exploring multiple angles, including the possibility of illegal crossing, smuggling, or honour-related violence.

Sources indicate that central agencies may also be brought in to assist local police, depending on the findings of the initial probe.

“This is a sensitive zone. Every case near the border has broader implications. We are proceeding with caution and clarity.”
officials said, noting that identity verification and mobile tracking will play a key role in the investigation.
